Nintendo of America and Rare have confirmed today that the legendary GOLDENEYE 007 video game will be digitally available for Nintendo Switch consoles and Xbox Live Pass on January 27. As it was first reported last September, this new version of the Nintendo 64 classic features new control options with support for dual analogue stick, native 16:9 resolution up to 4K, a consistent refresh rate and a series of achievements to unlock. Both versions will feature the split-screen multiplayer mode, although its online variant will be exclusive for users of the Nintendo handheld console.
As the trailers show, this version is completely unrelated with the 2007 cancelled remaster for Xbox Live Arcade which leaked in January 2021| and features an improved version of the N64 graphics instead of a completely new look of the original's assets.
