Pierce Brosnan to play Dr Fate in 'Black Adam'

Former James Bond actor and GOLDENEYE star Pierce Brosnan will join the superhero universe for the first time in his career opposite Dwayne Johnson in BLACK ADAM, says The Hollywood Reporter.

New Line's project based on characters from DC Comics will center on the title (anti) hero portrayed by Dwayne Johnson, while Brosnan will play Kent Nelson, also known as Dr Fate. Created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman, the good doctor has been instructed in the art of sorcery and given the magical Helmet of Fate. He has first appeared in 1940 in MORE FUN COMICS #5.

The film is currently in pre-production, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra with a screenplay by Rory Haines, Sohrab Noshirvani and Adam Sztykiel. Release date is still unknown.
